What is Haritaki?
Haritaki, commonly known as Chebulic Myrobalan is species of Terminalia, native to Southeast Asia including India, Nepal and China. The ovoid/elliptical fruit (Harde) of Haritaki carries many medicinal properties and known as ‘King of all Herbs’ in Tibetan medicine.
- Why should I use Haritaki Powder?
Fruits of Haritaki are rich in chebulinic acid, gallic acid, other glycosides and tannin. Dried Haritaki Fruit powder is natural body detoxifier, laxative, cardiotonic and antitussive*.
- What are the suggested ways to use Haritaki Fruit Powder?
For internal consumption: Mix 2 gm (half teaspoon) of powder with warm water. Best taken at bedtime for constipation.
For skin and hair care (external use): Face pack-Mix necessary amount of powder into warm water and apply that paste over acne. Haritaki powder can be used in hair pack to control dandruff.
- Why should I use Haritaki Fruit Powder instead of Haritaki Capsules?
There is minimal processing involved, no preservative added in the powder compared to manufacturing of capsules. Taste of the Herbs when taken in powder form helps in releasing the digestive enzymes. That makes powder easier to digest and faster to absorbs compared to capsules.
